Last week we published a review of Ziggs, one that I was particularly proud of. It was the first piece by a new writer for the site. Up until then, SotL had been a two man project with Domenic and I keeping everything together. While we've recieved numerous offers to assist in keeping SotL updated, I had finally decided to let someone else write with us because I felt I could trust the individual after interacting with them for several months.
Yesterday it was brought to my attention that the article was eerily similar to a review written earlier on GGChronicle, another fantastic eSports website. We immediately removed the offending review from the website while we investigated further. Today I have the embarassing task of admitting that our one-time writer blatantly plagerized the impressive writing of Obscurica. The author of the offending piece is no longer affiliated with State of the League in any way.
I'd like to personally apologize to Obscurica and the rest of the staff at GGChronicle and thank them for being so gracious about the ordeal. They made no request for a public apology, refrained from writing a public response, and simply asked us to remove the review from our site. They're stand up guys and didn't deserve something like that.

Can you clarify what you mean by "ticker"?How about keeping the ticker up to date when it comes to news, instead of writing articles? The only news I can see are projects you are personally involved with and the Riot news.. SK-Gaming and aAa websites are way better if someone wants to keep track.
Would have emailed you something about it, but I can't find the contact form anymore on the new site. State of the League is a project designed to help inform the League of Legends community.
Because Riot Games has designed LoL on the platform of "gaming as a service", the game itself is constantly evolving. As a League player, it's sometimes hard to follow all of the changes. Furthermore, the constant balance tweaks and the introduction of new champions every two weeks prevents most of the community from completely understanding what is going on within the game.
The competitive scene is also hard to follow. With League's involvement in the explosion of E-Sports, new tournaments are being played every week with awesome new teams forming and stars rising everyday. While there are some who can watch and follow all of this, some of us don't have the time or dedication.
